 Day 16: Foremost Of Sinners

Scripture Reading: 1st Timothy 1:15–16

The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.

And I am the foremost of sinners; but God was merciful to me in order that Christ Jesus might show His full patience in dealing with me, the worst of sinners, as an example for all those who would later believe in Him and receive eternal life. 

Road Reflection

1 Timothy 1:15–16 is a humbling reminder of the depth of Christ's mercy and His purpose in coming into the world. As we walk the road to Calvary, these verses invite us to reflect on the saving grace of Jesus, who came to redeem sinners. Paul’s admission of being the “foremost of sinners” serves as a testament to the transformative power of God's mercy. His story is not one of condemnation but of hope, showing that no one is beyond the reach of Christ’s love. 

Christ’s patience with sinners is an example for all generations, 

a demonstration of His boundless compassion and His desire for all to receive eternal life. As we journey through Lent, let this passage inspire us to acknowledge our own need for His mercy and to trust in His ability to renew our lives. Through His sacrifice on the cross, He offers redemption and a path toward reconciliation. Let this reflection remind you that Christ’s grace is sufficient, even in your greatest moments of weakness.

- Reflect on areas where you’ve fallen short, and seek Christ’s mercy through prayer.  

- Share your testimony or an act of love to encourage someone else’s faith journey.  

- Thank God for His patience and the gift of eternal life.

Prayer for My Soul

Lord Jesus, cleanse my soul with the mercy of Your love and renew it with Your boundless grace. Teach me to rest in Your patience, trusting that no sin is beyond Your redemption. Thank You for saving my soul and calling it to eternal life through Jesus Christ. May I be a reflection of Your compassion, pointing others toward the hope found in You. Strengthen my soul to journey with faith, humility, and gratitude for Your endless mercy. Amen.  

DAILY PROTECTION PRAYER 

Psalm 91 

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, 

will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress; 

my God, in whom I trust.” 

 

For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence; 

He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and buckler. 

 

You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. 

 

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you. 

 

You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. 

 

Because you have made the Lord your refuge, the Most High your habitation, no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent. 

 

For He will give His angels charge of you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. 

 

You will tread on the lion and the adder, the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot. 

 

Because he cleaves to Me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows My name. 

 

When he calls to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will rescue him and honor him. 

With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.

PRAYER TO THE MOST HOLY FACE OF JESUS

O adorable face of Jesus,

sole beauty which ravishes my heart, vouchsafe to impress on my soul Your divine likeness so that it may not be possible for You to look at Your spouse without beholding Yourself!

O my Beloved, for love of You I am content not to see here on earth the sweetness of Your glance, nor to feel the ineffable kiss of Your sacred lips, but I beg of You to inflame me with Your love so that it may consume me quickly and that soon I (name) may behold Your glorious countenance in heaven.

 

O JESUS, who in Thy bitter Passion didst become "the most abject of men, a man of sorrows", I venerate Thy Sacred Face whereon there once did shine the beauty and sweetness of the Godhead; but now it has become for me as if it were the face of a leper! 

 

Nevertheless, under those disfigured features, I recognize Thy infinite Love and I am consumed with the desire to love Thee and make Thee loved by all men.

 

THE tears which well up abundantly in Thy sacred eyes appear to me as so many precious pearls that I love to gather up, in order to purchase the souls of poor sinners by means of their infinite value. 

 

O Jesus, whose adorable face ravishes my heart, I implore Thee to fix deep within me Thy divine image and to set me on fire with Thy Love, that I may be found worthy to come to the contemplation of 

Thy glorious Face in Heaven.

Jesus, You said, "Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you." Through the intercession of Mary, Your holy Mother, I knock, I seek. I ask that my prayer be granted.

Jesus, You said, "All that you ask of the Father in My name, He will grant you." Through the intercession of Mary, Your holy Mother, I humbly and urgently ask Your Father in Your name that my prayer be granted.

Jesus, You said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My word shall not pass." Through the intercession of Mary, Your holy Mother, I feel confident that my prayer will be granted.

However, the process of learning to read is complex and builds on cognitive, linguistic, and social skills developed from a very early age.

 

As one of the four core language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), READING is vital to gaining a command of written language.
